Oh come all ye faithful…

April 29, 2009

Just when I thought scrapbooking could not get anymore exciting, I found out about something called faithbooking.

Faithbooking is a way for you to document your faith journey throughout the years by creating albums, layouts, verse cards and more focusing on the ways that God has moved in your life.

The Bible tells us in Deuteronomy 4:9: “Be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen, or let them slip from your heart as long as you live.”

And Psalm 77:11 says, “I will remember the works of the Lord; Surely I will remember Your wonders…”

As Christians, it is imperative that we keep a record of all the moments where we have seen God’s fingerprint in our lives. I personally find it helpful to keep these memories written in a journal or typed in a MS Word document to refer to them in times of hardship and struggle. In a world full of pain and suffering it is so important to keep our hearts and minds fixed on Jesus.

Faithbooking allows us to express and explore our personal relationship with God through creativity and imagination.

To start you on your faithbook journey I have included some helpful links that should help you get started.

Creative Memories is a great starting point for journaling ideas. If you are not sure where to start or what to write about, this site offers many journaling topics and questions that will get you thinking about your personal relationship with Christ.

Jess Gordon’s blog, “Scrapbook Ideas” was incredibly helpful when beginning my faithbooking search. Her “faithbooking” tab gave me lots of inspiration and ideas to begin documenting my own faith journey.

Faith Sisters is another great site for layout ideas and  inspiration.

I hope these links will be helpful for you when beginning your own faithbook and hopefully I will get a chance soon to post my own faithbooking projects. Until then, happy scrapping!

Mini Album: “My Best Friends Wedding”

April 22, 2009

I finally finished the mini album for my best friend, Daylix. I had made her this adorable little album back in February, but I never had a chance to add the journaling. So now (two months later) I have finally finished the album and it has turned out to be waaaaay cuter than I expected. Instead of adding my own journaling I wanted her to be able to add her own thoughts and memories to the album so each page has a thoughtful question along with blank lines for her to add her own thoughts and memories. Daylix, I hope you enjoy it! Here is the final product:
