Where to begin?

June 30, 2009

First off, many apologies for my blog absence. I’ve been rather busy with many new and exciting things which I am obviously going to dish about in detail of course, but first and foremost I want to say that I have been so scrap-deprived and am fully revved to get back into the game and start back up again. But before I can do that…let me catch you up on what’s been going on.

June was a busy busy busy month for lots of things. Our best friends got married, we went on a cruise for our 3rd honeymoon, my work as a personal assistant for Michelle Marchand picked back up again, I celebrated my 23rd birthday, we are in the process of closing down the family store (Congas Guayaberas), I became an auntie for the second time around (I love you, baby Edgard!) and we just started packing for our move to Wake Forest, NC.

This past month has been a roller-coaster ride, but I am excited to say that Lenny and I have seen many blessings in our lives through all of these events and we really can’t complain about anything that God has given us these past few weeks. Amidst the stress and overwhelming busyness we have managed to see that God has great things in store for us as we prepare for our move to North Carolina.

With that said, I am more than anxious/excited/ecstatic/thrilled to get back into the world of scrapbooking. It has been too long since I’ve even said the word cardstock and I think I’m beginning to break out in hives from the lack of scrapbook material contact. Wish me luck as I charge back into my addiction and stay tuned for more exciting projects and ideas.

Summer Line: Sassy Scraps

June 3, 2009

My first Etsy product has been created and will be the first of many to fit one of my summer project lines that I playfully named: “Sassy Scraps”. The theme of this line is sophisticated chic, with a sassy frilly flair. To achieve this look all my projects will be done in the colors black, pink, and white.

These gifts will be the most sophisticated and time-consuming one-of-a-kind gifts that I have ever created. They are also my favorite pieces of work because they contain my current favorite colors. Ever since I created that mother’s day frame for my mother-in-law I have been completely obsessed with the color combo. (So obsessed that I am designing my whole scrap space and summer project line after the three colors!) This Sassy Scraps project is an altered frame and is only one of many to come.

I hope you enjoy the new look and consider making it a gift for yourself!

New Motivation

June 3, 2009

I’m feeling a little overwhelmed.

I want so badly for my site and business to be a success, but it is proving to be a lot harder than I thought. I seem to be juggling what feels like a million things right now. Although I do not have a full-time job at the moment being a wife and personal assistant does take its toll on me.

I finally have some “me time”, but I still feel as though I have gotten nothing accomplished.

I know a couple posts back I set some “digibooking goals”, but I’m beginning to realize that maybe those goals were too specific and I need to set a broader set of goals to help stay focused. So here it goes…

My new scrapfordable goals:

1. Work on my site much much more. I love my site, but that doesn’t matter because you guys are my target audience. I’m here to appeal to you and therefore I need to start focusing a lot more of my efforts on making my site and business more appealing to you. Help me achieve this goal by sending me comments or e-mails of what you would like to see more of on this site. Maybe you hate to read my antics, but love pictures! Or maybe you want to see more projects and get in depth instructions on how to create the projects at home. Whatever it is that appeals to you, I want to hear about it.

2. Get my business up and running. I need to finish all of my unfinished projects and put them on my etsy shop. This will allow me to showcase my passion as well as give you the opportunity to purchase cute gifts at a scrapfordable price!

3. Last but not least I need to stay focused. I need to realize that although this is “business” it’s not a rule that it has to be dreadful. I need to remember that scrapbooking isn’t a contest and I sure won’t win a prize in the end so I just need to stay focused on the reasons I fell in love with scrapbooking to begin with and use that as my driving force.

Hopefully you guys will see a progression in me soon enough and business will shoot through the roof. If not…I can always keep dreaming!
